I'm so thrilled to share the exciting news I'll soon be working with the Melbourne Based company called Messy Veggies to do reviews on all the vegan options here in Adelaide at Vegan and Non-Vegan Restaurants and Cafes to show off the options and what Adelaide has to offer!
If you haven't checked out there website or YouTube channel links are below! Website: Messyveggies.com YouTube: Messy Veggies Facebook: Messy Veggies Instagram: @Messy.Veggies I was very lucky to be asked to attend Plant B Life’s Unique Cooking Demonstration Dinner with Huda Al Sultan (Master-chef Star, Dietitian, Mum of 3, Co-owner of Sassi Vegan Ice Cream) with my Photography. Never been to Plant B Life which I was planning on visiting one day myself as it looked like such a lovely cafe but to be part of a Cooking Dinner with Huda Al Sultan From Master-Chef and makes one of Adelaide's best vegan ice cream Sassi Ice cream it came to me as a shock but also honor and I couldn’t believe it!
Huda did such an amazing interactive dining experience with her 4 course NEW meals, as she not only shared the recipes, how to make them all, but the stories and her own personal family life about all the memories each food gave her and it bought back such happy thoughts to of my own. No matter were we are in the world, how big or small our families are there is always joy and memories made around food, made me feel more grateful for what I had growing up with my mum and nana learning to cook in the kitchen. The food was delicious nothing skipped on the flavor and its given me a new love and search for middle eastern cuisine! You could taste the love and true traditional homemade flavor and love in each meal, I don’t think you’ll find again in any other restaurant if you tried. If you want REAL tastes and experience the middle east without leaving Australia THIS IS IT! HUDA KNOWS WHATS UP! (Just wanna say though I can no longer buy Hummus from the stores after trying Huda’s homemade recipe, she ruined it for me with how good hers was I cant settle for less now!) One of my favorite meals would have to be the unique desert of fruit (berries and melon) with rose water and mint with Huda’s aka Sassii ice cream it was truly divine! Still dreaming of it! Will never forget this experience and i feel so grateful to be part of it, i had such an amazing time taking photos, learning so much about new foods and the culture of the middle east + making some new friends to! 100% would go back in a heart beat! My Photography from the whole event is here if you'd love to look at it: Middle Eastern Plant Based Masterclass
I was lucky enough this year to work with part of the Photography group at the Gincident Event held at Harts Mill down near Port Adelaide. This was the first Gin event I've ever been to and 100% will be going back again even if Im not doing Photography! It was such a blast, I never drink and don't really like alcohol at all but I still has so much fun and a few sips. The People, Food and Music was overall just a happy vibe and the tipsy ones were a whole new laugh! Really do recommend going to events like this even if your not that much in to drinking!
Here is the link to all my photos from the Gincident Event I was very lucky to have a interview with the amazing "Let's Go Vegan" and id love to share it with you!
Lets Go Vegan - "A Vegan Chat With Photographer Jacqui Rose"
Im gonna start this off and say Plant 4 Bowden would have to be one of my favorite little hang outs, coffee catch ups and friend meet up places in Adelaide. If you have never visited Bowden id highly recommend it with family and friends for a lunch, dinner or one of there markets! Bowden is a funky little eatery place that also has markets and events on and this night it was holding a complete Plant Based (Vegan) event with amazing plant based eateries, craft beer, wine, delicious cocktails featuring local distilleries, a unique selection of handmade shopping stalls, plenty of kid's activities, music and a overall amazing warm atmosphere with really friendly people.
Me and my family had a wonderful day we toke our time, got lost but had a awesome time finding our way around, toke some awesome photos and just enjoined being out together away from the crazy lives we have. You can see the Photography I toke from the day HERE on my Photography Botanical Gardens Around The World
Check out all the photos from the day HERE on my photography page!
Since the start of the year ive been working more with the phases of the moon and its honestly changed my mood and mindset to life. Ive been using my crystals with my oracle cards in the different phases of the moon (Full Moon, Retrogrades, New Moon) and journaling down my intentions, wishes and what my oracle cards reads to me. Its given me so much more understanding and depth in my life and I love taking the time to put my thoughts on paper with the magic of the moon. Ive now made it part of my self-care routine and always make sure to take time to do it. Learning your own spiritual journey is an amazing feeling but once you align yourself with the magic of the moon and become aware of the phases and how that energy can effect your daily life is an amazing awaking.
Keeping a moon journal is a way to forge a connection to the lunar cycle and begin to track patterns in your mental, physical, and spiritual phases. The way you are in tune with the moon is deeply personal and reflective of your own experiences. Moon journaling is a simple and powerful form of everyday magic and its changed my life for the better! Ask yourself questions during the changing of the moon like "what do I want to manifest in to my life?" "What is my true Intention" "What am I most thankful for?" "How can i improve my life?". All these questions aren't based on the "big picture" of life but just within this small moon phase. I wanted to share this on my blog cause its really changed my life and how I see and deal with things happening to me and those around me.
Happy Valentines Day
Wishing everyone a lovely day filled with self love and spending time with the ones you love (family, friends and even your fur babies) 24 years of life, lessons and struggles Ive finally found a balance, they say all good things take time. Crystals, healthy food, self love nope! You can do all them things but if you mentally don't change and shift your mind space its a waste of time. You HAVE to become your own best friend, stop talking down to yourself and be grateful for where you are, what you have and life overall!
Journaling my daily life, goals, wishing and what I am grateful for really changed my mind shift. It made me really how much I really have, what my purpose is and how we are only human and no one is perfect but we are all in this together and just want love and happiness! What do you value? What morals do you live by? What kind of person do you want to be? What inspires you? What makes you? These are some questions which have helped me realize and open myself up to becoming aware of how much i have to be grateful for. What I remind myself everyday
Now, have a go and try journaling yourself! Ensure that they are true to you don’t copy these ones down for the sake of copying, but you are certainly more than welcome to use these as inspiration to explore your own truth! Really dig deep into your core, think about what words will empower you to live to your fullest, and don’t be limited. I also recommend printing or writing your list out to stick onto a surface you often use, such as your mirror or wardrobe door. Remember, you already are an amazing human! Do everything with great intentions for yourself within love, take time for yourself and always always do whats best for you! Life is a journey everyone story is different and never judge yourself from others! I send so much love and happiness your way and everyone is on a self-development path we all want whats best for ourselves and we are all the same! Do everything in life that makes you happy, live life simple: Spending quality time with family and friends, Wake up and watch the sunrise, Read a nice book, Walk along the beach, Lunch date with friends, Cuddling an animal, Create Art, Eat wholesome foods, Donate to charity, Doing something for a cause, Bullet journalling, Random acts of kindness, Going to the farmers markets, Finding cute cafes and stores, Exploring your city, Hiking, Yoga, Going on a wing in the park, Leaning to cook, Leaning about a different culture, Decluttering, Fruit Picking, being true to YOU! xxxxx
The Vegan Festival one of the most wonderful days of the year, cause when being a vegan is more magical cause you dont have to worry about what to eat or if it might be crossed with animal products (also the day all your friends are in the one location). Ive been to the Adelaide vegan Festival the past 4 years and I honestly think this year was the biggest its ever been! So many new stalls, more food options, workshops, speakers it was honestly very overwhelming I think it should go for a week! I volunteered this year to do the photography on both days (wish I did it the other years to) It was so much fun as it made me really walk around take everything in and snap everything to! I ended up buying the Show-bag they were offering and which I personally think was way worth $25 (It including a Vegan Festival Bag, Candle by Natio, Vegan Fruchocs by Menz (chocolate covered apricots), Vegan Egg by Organ, Vegan Dog and Cat Food by VeganPet, Reusable Food Wrap by Wrappa, Notebook and Card by Earth Greetings + Heaps of food vouchers to local vegan restaurants)! I also bought myself a tank top from "In The Soul-shine" as they had a huge stall set up and ive been wanting a shirt from them for ages! Honestly i could of bought so much as there was so many new products and stalls it was really overwhelming as I said before! On sunday the last day of the vegan festival my family came along and also brought my doggy along as dogs are welcome at the festival to! oh i also forgot to say I got my face painting and a henna tattoo cause im a adult like that! Also ill share some photos from the vegan festival but I have them all uploaded in my Photography page which ill link RIGHT HERE. Be sure to check out where ever you are in the world for a vegan festival as i know most places including USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Sweden, Africa, Japan, Israel, India, Mexico and Thailand all have vegan festivals on in all parts of there cities and states! Its amazing to see and try new products, listen and meet new people and not feel so alone and make new friends.
For dinner which I was most excited for I went to Sushi Planet with my 2 best girls + My Family and literally ate the whole vegan menu they had! Sushi Planet would have to be one of the nicest restaurants in Adelaide its so fresh, amazing atmosphere, super friendly and they cater to everyones dietary needs! Ive been so many times and I wanted to go again for my birthday! It was such a nice night we stayed so long we talked and laughed about so many things and shared gifts as it was one of my girlfriends birthday the other day to so we all shared our birthday gifts together while eating all the amazing foods! The chef kindly gave me a free meal knowing it was my birthday and it was honestly the nicest and best thing ever!! I also bought a Live A Little Gelato Ice cream cake for desert which was Cookie Dough flavor with Brownie Bites in it to! It was as amazing as it sounds and i shared half of it with the staff at Sushi Planet to enjoy themselves to!
One of my beautiful friends spoiled me with a surprise order from Oh Deer Sugar an amazing fully vegan body & bath company made right here in South Australia alot like Lush but a bit more Extra and Homemade as some would say! Ive only ever had 1 thing from them and it was a Shower Moose i did a review on it to and it WAS AMAZING! I never asked for anything but my friend was very very kind to send me these I honestly don't know what I deserve to have such beautiful friends that think of me but also want to spoil me with gifts? it makes me cry sometimes cause ive never had Friends or real people I could trust growing up but now i have such lovely people in my life i sometimes find it hard to accept it! Dont want to get all sad so ill brighten the mood and show and write all the amazing things i was sent, as soon as i opened the box it came in the it smell hit me!! I love hwo bright and colorful all the items are and they are all food related! You can see and feel the love alot more put in to these and tbh better then lush as lush isnt all vegan friendly but this company is! Im so excited to try all this! Thankyou so much to my wonderful friend you know who you are hun x
List of Items I was sent:
If your in South Australia be sure to check out the Oh Deer Sugar in the city just off Rundal mall in the Regent Arcade or if you can buy something on there online store you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED OR MAYBE YOU WILL CAUSE YOU HAVEN'T FOUND IT EARLIER!! - www.ohdeersugar.com One of my kind friends went to Disney Land in Tokyo with her Boyfriend for a holiday and she kindly brought me back a gift! I didn't expect this and i was also shocked that it was something of ZOOTOPIA! Zootopia is my favorite film and that she bought me a Judy Hopps Mini Bag and a Pen from Disney land means alot i wanted to share this on my blog <3
Just wanted to share the gifts one of my close UK friends sent me! The fact someone can live overseas but know me to well with the candles, green day merch and banana themed items says alot to how much me know and talk to each other! Im really excited to cause she sent me some Starburst lollies (aka candies) as the Starburst here in Australia aren't vegan friendly! Im always thankful for the friendships and i never know what to say when i receive lovely gifts like this i feel so spoiled but lucky to have friends that do things like this for me <3 I hope one day we can meet in person <3
Yesterday I went to Beerenberg Farm (Which is a high quality company that makes Jams and Sauces in Adelaide only about 20mins out of the city) with one of my besties Dani who asked me to come with her for fun. Ive been wanting to go to Beerenberg for ages since i knew about it and that you can do Strawberries picking to...what more could a fruit loving vegan ask for! Literally could be picking strawberries all day! I think i left 5kgs heaver from all the strawberries i ate as i was picking at the same time but seriously nothing is better then eating sun ripped strawberries and picking them fresh of the plant! If your in Adelaide i highly suggest with family or Friends to go to Beerenberg Farm and strawberry pick yourself - www.beerenberg.com.au
